Project for Math Essay Example for Free

Project for Math Essay For each of the five variables, process, organize, present and summarize the data. Analyze each variable by itself using graphical and numerical techniques of summarization. Use MINITAB as much as possible, explaining what the printout tells you. You may wish to use some of the following graphs: stem-leaf diagram, frequency/relative frequency table, histogram, boxplot, dotplot, pie chart, bar graph. Caution: not all of these are appropriate for each of these variables, nor are they all necessary. More is not necessarily better. In addition be sure to find the appropriate measures of central tendency, and measures of dispersion for the above data. Where appropriate use the five number summary (the Min, Q1, Median, Q3, Max). Once again, use MINITAB as appropriate, and explain what the results mean. * Analyze the connections or relationships between the variables. There are ten pairings here (Location and Income, Location and Size, Location and Years, Location and Credit Balance, income and Size, Income and Years, Income and Balance, Size and Years, Size and Credit Balance, Years and Credit Balance). Use graphical as well as numerical summary measures. Explain what you see. Be sure to consider all 10 pairings. Some variables show clear relationships, while others do not. * Prepare your report in Microsoft Word (or some other word processing package), integrating your graphs and tables with text explanations and interpretations. Be sure that you have graphical and numerical back up for your explanations and interpretations. Be selective in what you include in the report. Im not looking for a 20 page report on every variable and every possible relationship (thats 15 things to do). Rather what I want you do is to highlight what you see for three individual variables (no more than 1 graph for each, one or two measures of central tendency and variability (as appropriate), and two or three sentences of interpretation). For the 10 pairings, identify and report only on three of the pairings, again using graphical and numerical summary (as appropriate), with interpretations. Please note that at least one of your pairings must include Location and at least one of your pairings must not include Location. * All DeVry University policies are in effect, including the plagiarism policy. Project Part A report is due by the end of Week 2. * Project Part A is worth 100 total points. See grading rubric below. Submission: The report from part 4 including all relevant graphs and numerical analysis along with interpretations. Format for report: A. Brief Introduction B. Discuss your 1st individual variable, using graphical, numerical summary and interpretation C. Discuss your 2nd individual variable, using graphical, numerical summary and interpretation D. Discuss your 3rd individual variable, using graphical, numerical summary and interpretation E. Follow this up with computing 95% confidence intervals for each of the variables described in a. -d. , and again interpreting these intervals. 3. Write a report to your manager about the results, distilling down the results in a way that would be understandable to someone who does not know statistics. Clear explanations and interpretations are critical. 4. All DeVry University policies are in effect, including the plagiarism policy. 5. Project Part B report is due by the end of Week 6. 6. Project Part B is worth 100 total points. See grading rubric below.

My Journey to College Essay -- Personal Narratives

My Journey to College I first came to the university during spring break of my junior year of high school. At the time I was just visiting the three main universities in Arizona so that I would be able to make an educated decision as to where I wanted to get my college education. There were many events showing me the way to this university and little did I know that these events would come upon me and that they would show me the doors to the place where I was truly meant to be. I had a small thought in mind of becoming a chef or something else in the hospitality field. My mom had heard about NAU’s hospitality college and informed me that it was within the top ten. During our visit to NAU we met with and administrator in the HRM program just to get some information about the program. Some time passed and all of the information that I had gathered from the three universities kept running through my head. In the beginning NAU was not my first choice because my boyfriend at the time was in Tucson at U of A so naturally I wanted to attend school with him. Some more time passed and my boyfriend and I broke it off. I was all of a sudden lost because I realized immediately that the only reason U of A was appealing to me at all was because he was there. So my mind went back to thinking about what career I wanted to pursue. I was almost sure that hospitality was still the field for me so of course NAU popped back into my head. I discussed my new thoughts with my mom and we decided that I should apply and wait see what happened. I sent in my application. This was the only application I sent in despite all of the advice given by my high school teachers and administrators: â€Å"Make sure you send in as many a... ...l friends and she is still just right down the hall. My roommate and I became very close after the first few weeks of not knowing exactly how to act around one another and now we are the best of friends as well. Now, in my second semester at NAU, I have gained a great deal of independence, knowledge, and friends. I feel like NAU is my home away from home. I have great classes and I feel that NAU is going to prepare me very well for my life and career in the future. The events that led me to NAU were very inspirational and I feel that these events brought me to where I am really meant to be. I have been shown the path to NAU and now, NAU is showing me the path into my future. I have gone through great journeys to get here and have experienced great ones while being here and I am sure I will continue to experience many marvelous times in Flagstaff at NAU.

Acc1101 Assignment 1

Reflective Journal On Wednesday the 13th of March 2012 in room H102 at 12-1pm Catherine Chinnock from USQ Careers came to talk to the first semester ACC1101 student about career development (ACC1101 2012). I was never one to listen to career expositions or pay attention to any type of career development presentation, because most of the time they would just repeat the same thing over and over again. So when it came to listening to the career development presentation in my first semester (second semester for USQ) I wasn’t too enthused at what Catherine had to offer.Though after listening to the presentation I was actually surprised at what I had learnt and was able to understand why career development learning is beneficial, especially at Uni. I learnt about the skills and attributes involved, and what employers look for as well as how these skills enhance my graduate employability and ways to obtain these skills. Catherine had talked about the 8 skills of employability some of I had already heard of, such as ‘teamwork communication, problem solving, planning and organizing, and self-management’ (Chinnock 2012).However certain ones I hadn’t heard of, such as ‘long-life learning, initiate and enterprise and technology’, which came as a bit of a shock. I guess growing up in a generation where computer skills are almost a natural action I hadn’t put much thought about this skill I had obtained and how it could actually help me throughout my career. The Career development presentation also gave some key attributes to help me as a student prepare for graduating, and those were Aptitude, Attitude and Academic performance (Chinnock 2012).I found that in order to gain these skills; study, employment, volunteer/community work, work experience and extra-curricular activities could help (Chinnock 2012). To which I did some further research and found that USQ offered the Phoenix Award, which is an award given to those who had d one extra-curricular, work experience and community work by accumulating points (The phoenix award 2012). I also gained information on how to get employment and work experience and where to find it, which was online at the CareerHub (Chinnock 2012).USQ also had a career mentoring program which in which I am assigned a mentor for six months to help with any questions, give guidance and provide goal setting for life outside of university in my given field (Chinnock 2012). She had also explained what workshops were intended for in regards to setting up university and life skills (Chinnock 2012). I had also learnt that USQ held events throughout the year such as, speed networking, a careers fair and Industry Experience Program (Chinnock 2012).One main event that had interested me was an Industry Experience Program which is ‘designed to assist student to develop and enhance their skills and knowledge’ (Chinnock 2012) thus allowing me to broaden my understanding of what to ex pect work wise, and give me career opportunities (Chinnock 2012). From what Catherine had taught me I was able to learn the importance of balance between university and personal life. I learnt about what USQ careers has to offer to help me really get a head start in my career as an accountant, the opportunities that can arise and the importance of community both at and after university.I was able to see how different skills, help improve job employability and that it’s not just about the academic results but also the extra mile that I as an individual can do in order to enhance my career. This also helped me identify my own strength and weaknesses in each of the skills to improve, and how I am able to do so to ensure that when I graduate I am able to graduate with all the skills needed to help maximize my employability.Because of this presentation it means that the phoenix award I had enrolled myself in at the start of semester will help me improve my career development skill s as well as still enjoy participating in activities. Because of this presentation it now means I am able to improve my skills and still collect point for my phoenix award, to become a more effective employee and person.
